The use of data analytics intensified with the scale of the battle against the virus. As the virus was spreading at a greater rate than the world could cope up with, the world found refuge under the wings of data analysis. Serosurveys played a major role in the recovery of economies of great nations like America, India, France, and Japan where the viruses inflicted maximum damage through repeated assault.

Contact tracing and isolation were made possible through data analysis. Governments were able to buy more time for ramping up their health infrastructure all thanks to the pro-active and meticulous analysis of data on all levels.

The development of vaccines through hundreds of clinical trials spread over multiple phases was the product of data analysis as well. Volunteers were vaccinated with the anti-viral drug and severe side effects were rinsed off by analyzing the collected data. Data analysis also aided the process of determining the efficacy of the vaccine.

Data analysis was our shadow soldier in this war. The contribution of data analysis was immense but lesser-known and therefore, barely acknowledged by the masses.

After you’ve narrowed your choices down to 5 smartphones, you will pull out a list of their specifications and compare them on parameters like camera, battery, ram, display, processor, design, weight, and memory.

Consequently, after you are done comparing all five smartphones, you will choose the smartphone that is best for you.

Imagine the case where you don’t have access to the specifications of these smartphones. The choice would purely depend on intuition without any concrete data to back the decision up. Data analysis makes our lives easier in a ton of ways and this is one of its contributions.

Look around you, things are changing right in front of your eyes. There’s a revolution happening around you that you can see but cannot comprehend. New doors have been opened for mankind through data analysis that were previously thought to be non-existent.

It may come as a shock to you but it may be illegal to drive your car in the future.

Because accidents happen due to human error and machines operate on a set of rules that they cannot break. There’s no possibility of error and therefore, no possibility of accidents or traffic rule violation.

Companies like Tesla, that make self-driving cars are yet to come across their first case of inappropriate driving on auto-pilot. The accuracy of these cars is mind-numbing and will only improve as we feed more data into the computers.

It’s fascinating that computers can learn and get better through experience just like human beings.

Data is the most valuable resource in this universe because it allows humans to surpass their limits and devise solutions to problems that are beyond the limits of human capacity.
